I Might Just Marry You Someday
--
When my grandfather first met my Baba outside a neighborhood store, he joked, "If you get me a book of matches, I might just marry you someday." She returned with the matches—and cigarettes for her father—but it wasn't until years later, after he returned from serving in the Korean War, that he kept his promise. This painting celebrates a love story built on patience, resilience, and keeping one's word.
